There is a so-called freelance visa called Freiberufler in Germany, which is popular for its well-developed transportation network, reliable medical system, and relatively inexpensive living.
This visa will give you a visa for up to 3 years, but if you leave Germany for a temporary return, it will be up to 6 months.

What you need to apply

- Resident registration(Anmeldung)
- Letter of recommendation(Letters recommending work from previous employers, clients, or professors)
- CV(Resume)
- Portfolio(Printed ones, etc.)
- Qualifications and diplomas from universities and vocational schools(English available)
- Proof of accommodation costs(Documents certifying that you have sufficient funds to stay in your Deutsche Bank account)
※Proof that you have enough accommodation in case you cannot live in Fullerance.You can also submit items that prove assets such as real estate and stocks, and bank account deposits and withdrawals that prove monthly cash flow. - Business plan(Calculate your income forecast and submit a statement minus your monthly expenses)
- Pension plan (If you are over 45 years old)

General comment
I am grateful that once I get this, I get a long-term visa for 3 years. If you live for 5 years, you will be able to apply for permanent residence, so it is recommended for those who want to live in the EU.
It is a minus point that it is a little difficult because it is basically in German and a letter from a German company is required to obtain a visa.
