Croatia for Nomad in January 2021 Digital Nomad Visa
This allows digital workers to stay temporarily for up to a year (and in some cases less)
This visa cannot be extended, but after leaving Croatia for 6 months, you can reapply and stay for another 12 months
In addition, income tax and social security tax are exempted
People who can apply
- Non-EU citizens
- A proof of regular income of at least HRK 16,907.50 (about ＄2666.67) is required
If you are staying in the Republic of Croatia for 12 months, a minimum of 202,890.00 kunas ($ 32000) is sufficient for your personal bank account. You need to prove that you have the money - If you have a partner and relatives, you need an additional 10% per person
Application for temporary stay
- Submit your application online
- You will be transferred to the police station in your jurisdiction depending on where you plan to stay in the Republic of Croatia
- You are not allowed to open the apostille police certificate and cannot upload it online
So you have to go to the Croatian police station and apply directly - A copy of the document must be submitted in Croatian or English
- If you want to apply directly, you can fill out Form 1a (bilingual form) or apply online
- A valid travel document or a copy of her passport that is valid for more than 3 months
- Health Insurance
This is travel insurance or private health insurance and must cover the territory of the Republic of Croatia - Proof of purpose
A document showing that you have an employment contract from your company, that you are working for a third country, and that this work is done through communication technology, or a foreign country. Must present an employment or service contract with your employer - Proof of survival during your stay in the Republic of Croatia, bank statement or proof of regular income
Regular income of HRK16,907.50 (about $ 2666.67) per month
Also in your personal bank account Prove that you have enough funds for at least 202,890.00 kunas ($ 32000) - Proof of not being convicted of a criminal offense
Must be from your home country or the last country you have lived in for at least a year - Enter your Croatian address
A PDF of your Airbnb, hotel, or hostel booking is enough to start as a temporary address. You can change your address later at your local MUP (police station)
After obtaining a temporary residence permit
If you need a visa to enter the Republic of Croatia, get one
After arriving at the site
- You must register your temporary address at your local police station or police station within 30 days of being granted a temporary stay
Otherwise, your permit will be revoked - If you own real estate, Form 8a and a rental agreement or statement from the landlord or deed of ownership
- Issuance of biometric residence permit
The police station applying for a biometric card must provide a passport photo and biometric data

Overview
For non-EU citizens, it is attractive to be able to legally stay in Croatia for one year in the EU
Not only income tax, but also social security tax is not covered, so there is no tax other than VAT
But you cannot get permanent residence with this visa
Also, in order to renew your visa, you will have to reapply after half a year after the expiration date, so it is a disadvantage that you can not live forever
